<p>Google Assistant is an AI-powered virtual assistant available mainly on mobile and smart home devices. It can engage in two-way conversations with people and provide valuable information and services by integrating with many other apps.</p>
<p>By integrating Todoist with Google Assistant, you’ll be able to add tasks, complete tasks, and read out your tasks based on your voiced or typed commands.</p>
<h2>Connect Todoist with Google Assistant</h2>

<li>Open/Activate Google Assistant and say/enter "Let me talk to Todoist".</li>
<li>Give permission to link your Google Assistant account with your Todoist account (you may need to log in to your Todoist account to do so).</li>

<p>Whenever you add a task, Google Assistant will inform you that "The task has been added. Any changes?" At this point, you can move it to a project, add a label or set the task's priority.</p>

<h4>Why isn't Todoist with Google Assistant connecting properly? I can't get the integration to work.</h4>
<p>First try saying: <em>OK Google, what's my name?</em></p>
<p>If your Google Assistant responds by saying that it is unable to properly identify/verify you, then there is an issue with your Assistant settings that needs to be solved. Please try following <a href="https://support.google.com/assistant/answer/7684543?co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&amp;hl=en" target="_self">Google’s guidelines</a> to allow personal results on your shared Assistant devices.</p>
<p>If your Google Assistant responds with the correct name then you can try re-linking the integration:</p>

<li>Go to the <a href="https://assistant.google.com/services/a/uid/00000017e3e58192" target="_self">Todoist for Google Assistant Directory Listing</a>.</li>
<li>Tap <strong>Unlink</strong> to disconnect the integration (or <strong>Link</strong> if it's already disconnected).</li>
<li>Make sure you're already logged into your Google account on your mobile device.</li>

<p>Google Assistant may in some cases (e.g. on devices without a screen) assume that you want to link with your Google/Gmail address. To change to a different address:</p>

<h4>Why does the integration not understand what I'm saying?</h4>
<p>When speaking to Google Assistant, Google's Natural Language Processor (NLP) converts what it hears to text that is passed to the integration.</p>
<p>This is being managed by Google and we therefore won't be able to improve it on our end. We do, however, ensure that there are several alternate phrasings available, so that you can say the same thing in various different ways to get the results that you want.</p>
